Dental Implants
What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants serve as artificial roots, placed into your mouth, that support fixed or removable tooth replacements. Implants can be used when one tooth or several teeth are missing, or when the whole jaw is completely without teeth.
Dental crowns and bridges are then produced as your replacement teeth. They are individually designed to look and feel like your natural teeth. These crowns and bridges are then placed on to the tooth implant, to create a fantastic new smile.

Matt the dentist from the first time I turned up to my last appointment has done an incredible job, I cannot thank him enough for giving me my smile back. What an amazing team!
If you have a phobia of the dentists, then this video is a must watch for you! Our amazing patient Karen sits down to discuss her fears of the dentist and how, together with principal dentist Matthew Lamb and the Glendair Team, she has managed to transform her confidence! Karen has had four upper dental implants and she explains what this process was like as a nervous patient and how the experience has made her able to smile again!
Understanding Dental Implants
Dental Implants are a great way for you to fill unsightly gaps and are a great and permanent alternative to partial dentures – without any of the clasps and metal work that comes with a partial denture.
Attractive, healthy teeth play an important role in our general health and wellbeing. They help you look and feel confident, and let you be free to laugh with friends and family – anytime and anywhere.
The loss or damage of even a single tooth can have a considerable impact on everyday life and self-esteem. People lose their teeth for many reasons, sometimes due to an accident, illness, or simply due to poor health.
Whatever the reasons, the consequences can have a negative impact on your quality of life. You may no longer eat many of the foods you once enjoyed. You might feel self-conscious about your appearance and you may even stop laughing and smiling spontaneously. Your teeth do not stand alone. They are part of a complex, integrated system. That is why each tooth plays such an important role. Every single tooth ensures, for example, that the teeth in front and behind stay aligned.
When we chew, a healthy tooth strengthens the quality of the jawbone and helps prevent bone loss. Missing teeth, on the other hand, can cause the jawbone to shrink. Physical changes to the face are a frequent result. You begin to look older than you really are. Fortunately, modern dental technology can bring your life back to normal again. By replacing missing teeth, gradual bone resorption can be stopped. As a result, further potential tooth loss can be prevented. In fact, with the right care and expertise, you can have teeth that are strong and that look and feel natural.

“I have a Master’s Degree in Medical Science and Dental Implantology and I chose to take additional training as I understood the complexities and the massive pitfalls associated with people placing implants when not appropriately trained. Placing dental implants is a true skill and a one-day course is just not good enough” Says Matt
“To Matthew and team, thank you so much for my lovely implant. I was so chilled and relaxed and found the experience very professional and uplifting.”
DENTAL IMPLANT SUCCESS STORY – GETTING YOUR SPARKLE BACK!
“When I had to have a denture I hated it! As much as I persevered I just couldn’t get on with it. I’d have to take it out for meals and it spoiled my social life. I decided to have dental implants with Matt at Glendair and I’ve never looked back. It’s a lot of money and a long procedure but it was so worth it in the end. I feel like I have my mental health and my life back. We went out the other week and I ate steak again! Matt is wonderful and easy going and you can be yourself. Jo and Ruth are very nice and all of the team are really supportive. If it comes to having a denture or implants, think long and hard. Dentures are the easier option but implants outweigh them. Implants are just like having your own teeth and the investment is for your wellbeing – money well spent! It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

“My experience spans many years of having problems with my teeth and gums, from painful infections to teeth becoming loose and eventually falling out, along with the expense and difficulty of getting treatment that often felt like only a temporary fix.
I lived in almost constant anxiety and stress, and at times serious pain and discomfort. By the time I decided to consider implants, I was told this would not be advisable unless I gave up smoking. Fortunately, with e-cigarettes becoming available, I managed to quit with relative ease. I had also moved from Dorset to Derbyshire and, again fortunately, found Glendair and specifically, Matt.
By 2016, aged 58, implants were no longer just an option to consider; they were essential to my wellbeing, both physically and mentally. Yes, it is expensive. However, I was already spending upwards of £2,000 a year maintaining dentures and the ever-fewer teeth I had left.
Facing another ten years of the same, only to end up with full dentures, made it an easy decision for me — especially as repeated infections were eating away at the bone. Furthermore, and this was critical to my decision, I had complete confidence in Matt. As for the procedure itself, yes, it takes time, and yes, at times you feel a little battered and bruised. But at no point was I ever in pain, which was a very pleasant and welcome surprise.

After nearly nine years, I have more than recouped the initial expense. My implants are strong, the bone has healed, and they’re easy to care for. Most importantly, I’m free from the anxiety and stress that plagued me for over a decade before the procedure.

(I can even chew on an American Hard Gum, I tried one as a test, something I hadn’t been able to do confidently since losing a filling in my twenties!)”

Everything You Need To Know About Ending Denture Suffering & Replacing Missing Teeth!
Restore your smile in just one day
Glendair Dental’s implantologist, Matt Lamb, can replace your missing teeth with a full dental bridge supported from four dental implants.
With less implants needed, overall treatment time is reduced. The unique All-on-4 solution also ensures greater stability.
In certain circumstances, you can choose to have temporary provisional teeth on the same day as your treatment. These provisional teeth look and feel much like natural teeth and you can lead a normal life immediately after the treatment. After a few weeks’ healing time, we will place your final bridge.
The result? Your smile is improved and you can start enjoying your favourite foods again.
Old-fashioned dentures are not the only answer
We offer a variety of modern dental implant-based tooth replacement solutions for replacing missing teeth. Any of these solutions can help dramatically improve your quality of life; such as enabling proper chewing and speaking, increasing comfort and self-confidence.
Removable implant overdentures provide stability. New teeth are attached to two or more dental implants, making this a cost-effective option. You can chew with confidence a variety of foods and your sense of taste is unaffected. Your teeth can be removed for cleaning and the need for denture adhesives is eliminated.
Removable overdentures on an implant bar. For an even more secure fit, a precision metal bar is attached to your implants, providing stronger support for your removable dentures. Your new teeth can be removed for cleaning and the need for denture adhesives is eliminated.
Fixed implant supported bridges are a more durable solution with natural-looking replacement teeth, secured on four or more dental implants. This solution stimulates bone maintenance, restores chewing function and helps to maintain taste sensation as it doesn’t cover your palate.
